American-Palestinian Youth Released After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Detention

An American-Palestinian youth after completing a nine-month period in imprisonment by Israel without charge was released.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested last February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.
The US state department applauded the teenager's freedom.
Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, family members reported.
According to them, he appears visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems contracted in captivity.
Via family representatives, family spokesperson conveyed their "tremendous relief".
Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"At this moment, our priority is getting Mohammed prompt healthcare he needs after experiencing harsh conditions and inhumane conditions over several months."
American authorities stated they would maintain to provide consular support to the teenager's relatives.

A group of American legislators submitted a formal letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, urging greater action for his freedom.
Mr Ibrahim, with four children who runs an ice cream business from Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.
The father hadn't visited or communicated with his son following the detention, learning information solely about his son's condition via legal paperwork.
The teenager remained without charge at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.
Additionally housing grown detainees, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities and murder.

Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, including UN bodies, say some have suffered physical abuse and torture.
Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen according to health authorities was beaten to death by Israeli settlers amid clashes last July.
At the time, the Israeli military said officials were investigating information regarding a civilian had been killed.
The two cousins were employed together in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.
No indictments occurred regarding Sayfollah's death.
"We demand US authorities to ensure our family's safety," the uncle stated.
